Our Funders

The Dearne Valley Venture could not exist without the generosity of it’s numerous funders and contributors. We are a registered charity and 90% of our business generates no income, our services are free, and are open to all community groups and individual members of the community.

front of buildingWe are a registered charity who specialise in Life Long Learning for the ages of 8 - 80+.

We provide mostly free training for the Dearne Valley in anything from First Aid to Photographic repair and have been around for about 16 years.

We are a unique organisation in as much as we work across all three of the Dearne areas, Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham.

We were originally formed from several community groups who wanted to get together to provide work opportunities for the local community and needed somewhere to meet. A lease was taken on an old school building in Bolton upon Dearne and the D.V.V. was born.

The Resource Centre is now a project in it’s own right and has a development manager to guide it’s progress and oversee all the projects contained within the building, although it is still owned and run by it’s member groups, the list of which grows yearly.

We are open from Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm and welcome anyone who cares to drop in for whatever reason, questions, training, advice or a cup of coffee and a natter!
